Ever since I was a child, I have always been searching to understand the mystical and the metaphysical.  My soul-searching journey started when I did a transcendental meditation course many years ago in Canberra, and I have never stopped learning since, although there were times when I completely lost my bearings in pursuit of other earthly goals.

With the benefit of four university degrees in various disciplines, I was fortunate to have worked in a range of administrative, consulting management, marketing and economic research portfolios in both the public and private sectors in Australia, which included overseas postings to Hong Kong and China in the early 80s for the Federal Government.  In the 90s and up until 2004, for more than 10 years, I was an ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher in Sydney, helping foreign students and new migrants acquire English Language skills.

My life interest in metaphysics took a significant turn in 2000 when I discovered I was born a channel for Spirit.  (A channel is someone who can communicate effectively with the spiritual realms through the Higher Self.)  To enable me to work effectively for Spirit, I needed to have a strong knowledge of metaphysics.  This led me to the first metaphysical course taught by a real Spirit Master with the Australian School of Metaphysics (see www.maitreya-edu.org).   In 2003, I completed the final course with this school, the Brotherhood Course.  Since then, I have been teaching metaphysics under the guidance of Spirit.

I am also a fully qualified Reiki Master/Trainer, Advanced Level 3 Aura-Soma Practitioner, Master Practitioner of Neuro Linguistic Programming, Hypnotherapy and Time Line Therapy, as well as Graduate of Light Body (see www.orindaben.com).  In addition, I have received intuitive training in Astrology, Classical Meditation Techniques, Tarot and Classical Feng Shui. 

Since February 2004, I have been serving voluntarily the Maitreya website (www.maitreya-edu.org) as editor of its newsletters.  In June 2005, I moved permanently from Sydney to Mount Tamborine in Queensland to set up a married life with my soul mate, Peter Luke.  I now run my practice from this beautiful location, and  I have since become the Tarot cards reader for the Alternative Gallery on Mount Tamborine. 

My aim in starting my own practice is to use my ability as a channel to help heal people using any of the modalities or techniques I have learned.  To that end, I hope I can assist people switch on their unique light and power within, so that they can be free and whole again to master their own destiny.  The shining example of someone who has done that is Nelson Mandela, and he has used a beautiful poem to share with people who truly care about their enlightenment:

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that frightens us the most.
We ask ourselves, “Who am I to be brilliant?”
Actually, who are you NOT to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.

We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It is not just in some of us, it is in everyone of us, and as we let
          Our own light shine, we give permission for others to do the same.
As we are liberated from our fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
